Trainings & FELLOWSHIPS

Our goal is to cultivate a diverse, new generation of researchers that are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to tackle the complex challenges related to Social Security programs.

  • RESEARCH FELLOWS PROGRAM

The NYRDRC’s Research Fellows Program will support doctoral students with research fellowships, mentorship, and assistance for publication and conference travel. Fellows will engage in ongoing research and attend professional conferences, and NYRDRC seminars. We aim to enhance diversity by prioritizing underrepresented scholars, including racial and ethnic minorities, women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and individuals with disabilities. Through both financial and intellectual support, our goal is to cultivate a new generation of researchers who are more diverse and equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to tackle the complex challenges related to Social Security programs today and tomorrow.

  • SUMMER RESEARCH INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

This is an eight-week program providing undergraduate students with the opportunity to gain hands-on research experience. Interns will be assigned to research teams led by NYRDRC faculty and involved in various stages of the research process. They will attend weekly workshops covering research topics, methods, and career development related to aging, disability, and Social Security programs.
